    Under the finger rings...

HELP!! Having a boatload of fun working on my glove peices but running into a problem. Soldering the metal rings under the fingers is proving quite challenging. Once on, they keep falling off when soldering the knife up top!!!

Advice would be be so appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

Heat and clean parts with flux first. Clean parts are key for a good bond. Makes the solder stickier. Also only heat as much as you need to. People generally use way to much heat when soldering anything and copper gets hot real quick. You can also make the solder drip into place but you have to be quick... Im a noob at building gloves, but i have been soldering together classic car and industrial radiators for about 5 years now. I would say blade first, then the ring, then touch up the blade if ya need to.

Solder the blades on first, then when you do the rings solder one side, trying to keep the flame away from the blades, let it cool before you solder the other side.... When you apply too much heat at one time other work will loosen up and come off

Blades first! Didn't try that yet. Thank you very much! Fire for the rings, or have you ever tried a (cheap) soldering gun?
