IT (2017) far exceeded our expectations. Dolby Cinema at AMC Theatres really heightened the experience. A great interpretation/adaptation of Stephen King's source material and the best film of 2017. A solid 9.5/10 (maybe 9/10), with only a few minor criticisms. Can't wait for Chapter 2!

After seeing IT yesterday, I give it a 2/10, I really find the franchise hilarious as Tim Curry annoying everyone in the Library scene of the original, but I wanted to enjoy this as a horror movie, which I didn't, because it just makes me see the references to other films I already saw, once seeing Georgie squirming away with his arm bitten off, it just made me want to watch the NOES series instead since the put up the Posters in the arcade

I have not seen it yet .... I did see the original back in the 90's I think there is too much hype about this movie and sadly when they do this it takes away from the movie itself. NOES is classic and freddy is a classic horror figure. I have heard the good and bad about this movie. I am just an old school horror fan that believes the classics should be left alone.

I don't think I will hate the movie ... I was just saying that sometimes too much hype can bring up expectations for some and let them down when they see it ..... as with anything ..... Its just a movie and they are made for enjoyment. There is too much HATE in this world these days ....

This is not a remake. It's another adaptation of Stephen King's classic 1986 novel. The original mini series while good for nostalgia reasons was a pretty poor adaption of the original material. This new movie is MUCH closer to King's book and is a much better movie. And King's book is an absolutely literary classic. It has nothing to envy about Elm Street.

John Carpenter's The Thing was not remake of a 1950s film either. It was another adaption of Who Goes There?, that also was much closer to the original material.
